Stories such as the one that preceded this are important to pass down to our children and grandchildren, as I just did via email to our four daughters. Hopefully, they will carry the message forward to their children, and so on.
Why is it important that we do this? Well, because it is about the only way stories of the goodness of Americans is going to be told to future generations. Our country was founded on principles, not just to form another country. If we just wanted to do that, we could have become another England, or France and carried on their traditions and forms of governments. But ours was founded on principles that are true today and are being eroded by folks and factions that want to make it something different than what it set out to be, a good and generous nation founded with the consent of the governed.
