Too Many Wars, Too Few Soldiers

Well, I definitely agree with the second half of that headline.  Since the Clinton days, the drawdown of forces has been steady and it is a wonder our military can do as much as it has with the fewer numbers of people on hand.  Do more with less became a reality.  As a result, they are burning out the forces, especially Army and Marines with repeated deployments to combat zones, not to mention ongoing deployments to places like Bosnia, a Clinton legacy that lives on.

Army Maj Gen Bob Scales, Ret., has been a talking head on the cable shows, especially Fox when wars are afoot.  He has written a column that reflects my thinking that you can read by clicking HERE.

It's a pity that we are going to be going down a lot further before we get better, if ever.
