The reason I feel his critics are so down on him for his public displays of Christianity is the same that I think most people are against religion in general. They are afraid of being judged themselves. They know they will be and can't stand the answers to the questions they will be asked by God when they die. So they attack, belittle, deny and scorn religion wherever they can. And that says more about them than it does the person or thing they are criticizing.
