I was just merrily reading right along with the Air Force Association's daily news email when I came across an item that just made me shudder and groan at the same time, and it had nothing to do with the cottage cheese at lunch. You can clearly see the damage a Liberal Administration can do with the power to appoint people to key positions who will remain there for years, decades and sometimes generations to come.
This piece describes new appointees to the Defense Policy Board. But take a look at the first three names and be prepared to retch. The first two are Clintonistas come back to haunt again and the third a Liberal Congresscritter, none of whom have the best interests of the military at heart. With the coming budget crunch and the threat to take half of all new cuts from Defense if the Congressional Super Committee comes to an impasse, who better to tell the SecDef and Service Chiefs to shut up, like it or lump it and just relax until it is all over?
"We have met the enemy and he is us, " Pogo.
